A stay-at-home order is in effect. Only leave home for essential purposes such as food, health care, vaccines, exercise or work. It’s the law. Stay home, save lives.

Further public health measures now in effect:

A person shall not use any outdoor recreational amenities, including all outdoor sports facilities and multi-use fields (baseball diamonds, soccer fields, frisbee golf locations, tennis, platform tennis, table tennis and pickleball courts, basketball courts, BMX parks, skate parks), all portions of park and recreational areas containing outdoor fitness equipment, all outdoor picnic sites and picnic tables in park and recreational areas. Playgrounds remain open.

The Town is reviewing the new provincial regulations and will provide additional updates.

Description:

The Ajax Community Centre (ACC), one of the most diverse facilities in Town, features a variety of rooms ideal for meetings, special events or celebrations and rentals spaces, including:

  • A large Community Hall
  • Fitness & Health Centre
  • Wellness Studio
  • Squash courts
  • Indoor pool
  • Family change rooms
  • Arena ice pads
  • Youth Space

In addition the ACC is home base to the Recreation, Culture & Community Development Department, Facility Booking Offices and many community organizations, including:

  • Ajax Boxing Club
  • Ajax Judo Club
  • Ajax Skating Club
  • Ajax Minor Hockey Office
  • YMCA Early Years Centre
  • Rock Oasis Rock Climbing Facility
  • Boys & Girls Club of Durham Region

Outside there is a skateboard park, basketball court, an artificial turf field, soccer fields, tennis courts, Ajax Soccer Club Clubhouse and the Ajax Cricket Club, cricket pitch and pavilion.

Special Occasion Permit (SOP)

An SOP is mandatory for all functions serving alcohol, including beer and wine, and is issued by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).  Please read the Municipal Alcohol Policy (MAP) Planning Guide to understand requirements related to serving alcohol in Town facilities. 

Please note that not all Town facilities allow the serving of alcohol. Refer to the MAP Planning Guide for a complete list of Town approved venues for SOP Events.

Hours:
Monday-Friday 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Summer hours vary.
